Hi, I'm Vixen!  Welcome to my totally true Adventures in Dating blog.  I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.

I've got this post sticking to the top of the blog so that new readers will see it first.  

This blog will make way more sense if you read it in chronological order, from the first/earliest post to the most recent, since I frequently refer to past experiences.  So from here, jump to the first post in the Adventures in Dating blog and read on from there...  and if you like reading about my adventures, drop me a note or leave me a comment and let me know - 'tis nice to know my efforts are fruitful... for someone, anyways :)

When I re-entered the singles dating scene, I decided to go the online dating route.  I don’t drink, so I’m not much for the bar scene, and I figure I’ll greatly increase my chances of finding someone I want to date if I’m actively seeking to meet new people.  Plus, really I was no stranger to online dating.  For a dozen years and through three relationships, I’ve been a swinger, and my partners and I have used the ‘net to meet new friends and playmates.

I decided to spread out my efforts over several different types of dating sites, and I’ve been having get-to-know-you first dates at the rate of a few a week (but few second dates).  Since I’ll be referring to them a lot in this blog, I thought it might make sense to discuss the dating sites I'm using.  I don’t want to provide advertising for these sites (nor do I want blog readers to seek me out there), so as with the people I discuss in this blog, I’m going to give them pseudonyms. 

A little about me.  You’re probably wondering who this Vixen chickadee is.  Well, considering that this blog relays intimate details of my dating and sex life, I’m not going to be all full of self-disclosure here…  the idea being that if someone I know (but haven’t directed here) just happens across my blog, they won’t know it’s me.  And if one of my dating adventures just happens across my blog, he won’t track me down to berate me for giving him a humiliating 15 seconds of web-fame.

But so that you can picture who I am and why the heck someone would want to date me, I suppose a little self description is in order.  I am a professional in her early thirties with a doctorate, a great career, and a wide variety of talents and hobbies.  I think smart is sexy, and so I’m seeking an intelligent, attractive, witty guy to date.  You’d think that’s not such a tall order, but alas, you’d be wrong (or so I'm finding).  As for looks… I don’t profess to be gorgeous (although some say that I am).  I'd like to think I clean up nice.  I don't expect to be landing on any magazine covers anytime soon, but I’m considered by many to be very attractive, and have frequently been told that I ooze sexuality.  I’m curvy and busty and have hair that seems to make guys swoon (or maybe they’re just saying they’re swooning over my hair so they don’t have to admit they’re swooning over my cleavage).  

So yeah, I’m very datable.  Does my saying that give my Adventures in Dating blog any extra cred?

Hi, I'm Vixen!  Welcome to my Adventures in Dating blog.  

For a long time now with the advent of the blogosphere, people have been asking me if I blogged, and I’ve always said no, that I didn’t think there was much going on in my life that people would find interesting enough to want to read about regularly.  What I didn’t say was that there was probably plenty going on in my life about which the general public would love to see the juicy details, but it wasn’t stuff I was willing to openly discuss with the general public. But regardless, while I was keeping a private computerized journal, I wasn’t at a point at which I wanted to write about my private adventures publicly.

I’d been married for 5 years, and in one serious relationship almost immediately after another for my entire adult life.  And then I found myself single and dating again… and all of a sudden, I found I had much blog fodder.  My adventures in dating have been… entertaining to say the least. Some good, a lot of bad, some downright retarded.  I’d taken to reporting on my adventures to a few close friends, and heard “you really need to start a blog” enough times that I decided to give it a go, especially after my most recent dating adventure, which will be my blog’s inaugural adventure once I get all this introductory stuff out of the way. 

I’ve been meeting some interesting people.  I’m learning some interesting lessons about dating and about men in general.  Some of the things that have been happening have been hilarious…  some have been jaw droppingly astounding.
